Presenting progress in construction

Titlis Bergbahnen

Titlis Mountain Railways wanted to keep stakeholders informed about the progress of construction work and generate enthusiasm for its landmark project. The response was a new journalistic medium. The modern, fresh look of the magazine “Titlis Progress” helps get the message across on both an informative and an emotional level.

Client’s wish

Bergbahnen Engelberg-Trübsee-Titlis AG wanted to provide the public with more information about the progress of the Titlis project. This once-in-a-century project includes a new summit station, the conversion of the antenna tower into the Titlis Tower, featuring restaurant areas and a viewing terrace, and the renovation of the connecting tunnel. The goal is to show stakeholders the long-term benefits of the project in particular and to promote understanding for the costs and short-term negative effects such as emissions and operational restrictions. The objective was to create an appealing medium to convey the fascination and future potential of the Titlis project.

Solution

A magazine was designed and produced to keep stakeholders informed about the positive impact of the Titlis project. As the name “Titlis Progress” suggests, the magazine centres on the progress being made on the project. The printed publication is published in alignment with the steps and milestones in the development of the project. It’s also available as a PDF for download on the website.

Process

The magazine’s content policy was developed in collaboration with our partner Steiner Kommunikationsberatung in Uitikon. Its 32 pages provide space for information on milestones, interviews with key stakeholders and gripping construction site reports. The aim is to package important information in an emotionally appealing way that inspires readers about the project. Linkgroup developed a design concept to match based on the recently revamped, modern brand identity of Titlis #ThePeakToBe. The result is a vibrant, journalistic magazine in a striking contemporary design that provides a framework for the various formats and a varied reading experience.
