Eniwa is a regionally rooted energy services provider supplying 33 municipalities in the Aargau region with electricity, heating and cooling, drinking water, cutting-edge digital infrastructure and smart energy solutions. It’s a complex business – and expectations for the new website were correspondingly high. It had to satisfy a broad range of stakeholders while attaining the latest level in both technology and content. Building on the proven OPF workshop concept, and supported by extensive preliminary analysis, the result was a website that impresses on every level.
OPF workshop: asking the right questions
What’s key to the successful launch of a web project? The UX/UI team at Linkgroup had the answer to the Eniwa communication team’s question: an OPF workshop. This modular framework for creating digital products addresses all the requirements of a future-proof online presence.
Putting user needs first
With clients ranging from single-person households to large industrial enterprises, as well as employees in countless specialist areas, and municipalities of every size – communications needs were highly individual. Linkgroup designed interviews that allowed Eniwa to take a deep dive into each group of stakeholders’ requirements. In addition, Eniwa conducted more than 40 internal workshops.
Four steps to the new website
The journey from the initial idea to going live is a long one – and the clearer it’s structured and planned, the better the outcome. The preliminary project established the foundations, paving the way for the concept phase. From there, the design phase brought the new website to life. The final stage was the development project, culminating in a successful go-live in May 2025.
Content under review
A company like Eniwa embodies a high degree of technical complexity. Much of its expertise resides in the minds of its many specialists – but communicating it in a way that’s accessible to non-experts is no easy task. This is where support from Linkgroup’s content team came in, with all the texts on the new website carefully reviewed for both substance and style. The result is content that’s as complex as necessary yet as clear as possible.
Successful go-live
After the content migration, all design components were tested both front end and back end. New pages were approved by the relevant departments to ensure quality in both content and visuals. For the technical implementation, the tried-and-tested CMS Craft was selected.
A future-ready website
Over the years, Eniwa’s digital world has grown organically. Existing and new digital channels now need to be aligned and coordinated so customers are fully supported along their journey. With its new website, which attains the latest level in both technology and content, Eniwa has laid the basis for further expanding its DXP – the technological foundation already exists.
